Book Review by elkowen

"KidStress" by Georgia Witkin, Ph.D.

Dr Witkin interviewed eight hundred youngsters between the ages of 9 and 12 about the stress in their lives. She then interviewed the parents about the stress they thought their kids were experiencing. Almost 75 % of the kids had nightmares at least sometimes. When the parents were polled, only 37% thought their
kids had nightmares.

I liked this book because not only does it talk about how the stresses manifest themselves physically, but it gives insight and strategies on teaching your kids to cope. It also helps you, as the parent, let go of your guilt and help your child.
